Hemp and Honey: The All-Natural Healer

Updated: Jan 20

If you’ve checked out CBD honey sticks before, you may have noticed some products have sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, and even artificial flavors added. We don’t need any of that in our CBD honey sticks. The local clover honey and organic wildflower work to create a delicious flavor that soothes with every taste.

Honey and hemp are a powerful duo

Many people use CBD because of its soothing effects. Whether it’s chronic pain, anxiety, sleep problems, or many other reasons, CBD is the top choice for many to manage a variety of conditions.

CBD works with our bodies’ own endocannabinoid system. This is a series of receptors and neurotransmitters that work together to keep the body balanced and in harmony, a state known as homeostasis. When you take CBD, whether it’s for pain, anxiety, or something else, the compound signals receptors to restore harmony where it’s needed.

Honey is also a soothing substance with many benefits of its own. Not only is it nutritious and filled with antioxidants, but it also may help improve cholesterol. On top of that, it has antibacterial properties and can even help heal some wounds. Our favorite honey benefit is the relaxing, sedative effects of raw honey. Not everyone uses raw honey AND Full Spectrum CBDa in their sticks, but we choose to because of the many benefits that it provides.

THS Farm honey sticks stand out from the rest

Our CBD honey sticks are in a league of their own and it’s not just because we don’t use artificial flavors or sugary sweeteners in our products. And it’s not just because we use raw, organic honey. We also use a top-of-the-line extraction method. The result is a potent CBD extract that provides relief for a variety of conditions.

Our CO2-extraction makes use of both CBD and CBDA to provide a more potent kick. Wondering what CBDA is? We’ll break it down quickly:

CBDA is the acid precursor to CBD, the compound we all know and love. A great example of how it works is marijuana. Marijuana contains THC, which gets users high. But before it can get users high, the THC has to be activated. To activate, THCA, the acid precursor of THC, must be heated. This converts THCA to THC. Consuming THCA (raw cannabis, as an example) will not get users high.

Similarly, in order to create CBD, we need to first activate the acid precursor, CBDA. But here’s the thing: CBDA has benefits of its own. In fact, it’s suggested to be more effective than CBD for certain uses.

One example of this is a 2012 nausea study conducted on shrews and rats. Researchers looked at the effects of CBD and CBDA for nausea and vomiting. They discovered that CBDA could reduce toxin and motion-induced vomiting in shrews and reduce signs of nausea in rats. The most interesting part? CBDA displayed a significantly stronger potential to combat vomiting than CBD. With that in mind, you can see why we choose to use a CBDA/CBD infusion in our honey sticks.

Each part of the process, from growing the hemp to extracting the CBD, is done in house. We extract using CO2, which leaves no room for residual solvents or contaminants in our final product. Since we want our customers to be informed, we also send our products to a third-party laboratory to verify that what you see is what you get.
